How do we walk the path of spiritual formation and join the life of Bridgetown Church?
The journey of discipleship is not linear, it’s cyclical. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to following Jesus. This pathway is simply a way of finding yourself within Bridgetown Church and an invitation to move deeper into our church family. Move at your pace, in the way that matches your journey, and in the timing that fits your limits. You are welcome here.
Sunday Gatherings are the primary way we gather as a church to worship together, learn the Scriptures, pray for one another, and create space to hear from the Spirit. It is in these moments together that we collectively embody Jesus and his kingdom.
Bridgetown Basics is a two-week course that introduces you to the Bridgetown story, what we believe, and our rhythms of life as a church family. We would love to meet you and help you get connected into life with Bridgetown. Look forward to this course coming each month.
Do you have questions and doubts about Jesus and the church? Alpha is an open and informal conversation about life, spirituality, and the person of Jesus without judgement or pressure. We would love to hear your thoughts and questions as we explore these themes together without the pressured atmosphere that usually comes with these conversations.
If you are a follower of Jesus and have yet to enter the waters of baptism, we encourage you to take that step. Our Baptism Class provides an opportunity to talk through the new identity, new family, and new mission that we have in Jesus. Look forward to the class and chance to be baptized coming a few times a year.
Spiritual Formation Basics
Spiritual Formation Basics is a nine-week course that discusses the practices of Jesus and his invitation to be disciples. In this course we will explore the nine key spiritual disciplines, as well as what it means to abide in Jesus, transform our lives, and carry out his Kingdom vision for the world.
Community Basics is a two-week course and training that introduces you to the framework for life in a Bridgetown Community. In this course we will discuss a vision for how to share life together in our city and place you into a small group of people who live in your neighborhood.
Bridgetown Communities are the way we gather during the week around the table to be the people of Jesus in our city. We eat together, pray for one another, and share life together. It is in these ordinary rhythms of life that we become more like Jesus. Each Bridgetown Communities is neighborhood-based. As we live and work in proximity to each other, we are able to partner in the mission of God to see his Kingdom come in Portland as it is in heaven.
Life with Bridgetown Church
We feel that life with Bridgetown Church is fully realized when we practice the way of Jesus, live in community, gather on Sundays, serve, and give. In this rhythm we form our lives to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.
