Christmas Giving Campaign

This December, we are dreaming about three initiatives we’re excited for in the new year: the opening of a prayer room, the development of our Justice Center, and generous support of our justice and mercy partners. In response, Bridgetown Church is launching our first ever Christmas Giving Campaign. Every cent given will go exclusively to these three initiatives. We want to invite all who worship with Bridgetown into this vision, first through generosity, and then through active participation. We believe that prayer, communing with God relationally, is the center of the Christian life, and that all mission flows from intimacy.

This is an invitation to give—and to give above and beyond your regular tithes and offerings. Would you prayerfully consider giving sacrificially this holiday season? In a season infamous for consumerism and indulgence, can we, as followers of Jesus, swim against the current and sow seeds of Kingdom generosity? That’s the invitation of the Bridgetown Church Christmas Giving Campaign.

Our goal of $150,000 would allow us to fully realize these dreams for 2022. The fund will remain open through December 31. I hope you’ll join us.

Be sure to select “Christmas Giving 2021.”

The Opening of a Prayer Room

Our desire is to become a people of prayer and for our church to be a house of prayer. One of the first steps towards this is to build out a prayer room, a space in our building dedicated to prayer. Our dream would be that someday we would be a church of unceasing prayer keeping the light of prayer burning 24/7! And with your help we are actually going to get this room ready to launch our first month of 24/7 prayer in February. We believe that putting prayer as the center of all that we do is going to lead to incredible breakthroughs in our lives, in our church, and in our city. We can’t wait to see what God is going to do as we move forward in this together.

The Development of Our Justice Center

As we steward what God has given us, we long for our church building to be much more than a resource on Sundays. We want it to be a gift to our city, particularly those on the margins. We believe that prayer fuels mission and therefore they should exist in the same space. With that, surrounding the prayer room, we plan to build out what we’re calling the Justice Center, which will be a place where our own justice ministries, as well as local non-profits and other organizations doing Kingdom work, can gather to serve those in our community who need it most. We want Bridgetown church to be and bring good news not just to those who come in the doors on Sunday, but to all who call Portland home. We dream of a church whose doors are open 7 days a week, teeming with the life of the Kingdom of God in every variety imaginable.

Support of Our Justice & Mercy Partners

As a core part of this campaign, Bridgetown is committed to financially giving to our justice and mercy partners that are building the kingdom of God outside the four walls of this local church. Through the years Bridgetown has partnered with organizations like Every Child, Refugee Care Collective, City Team, and Forward Edge International, just to name a few. We believe in the missions of these organizations who are serving and caring for the marginalized and vulnerable in our city and around the world. Bridgetown is committed to furthering their work through both active participation and financial support.
